Whether you are a dedicated runner, a high school athlete or someone who fills up their weekend with athletic activities and then deals with discomfort on weekdays, sports medicine compounding can help you. Staying active is good for your physical and mental health, but it does take its toll on your joints and muscles.
Aches, pains and strains may seem as though they are something you have to deal with when you are leading an active lifestyle. No one gives you points for trying to “grin and bear it” when you are clearly uncomfortable.
Topical Sports Medicine Puts Relief Where It Hurts
Why take an oral pain medication when you need focused pain relief in specific areas of your body? It takes time for medications taken by mouth to work since they have to move through your digestive system before offering any relief. Some oral pain relievers may cause stomach irritation or other negative effects, and are not meant to be used for long-term pain relief.
Our sports medicine compounding pharmacists can work directly with your doctor to develop individual treatment solutions that fit your specific needs and we can create topical pain relievers to treat your muscle or joint pain. Since the topical creams or transdermal gels are placed directly on the source of your discomfort, you don’t have to wait for 20 minutes or more, like you would with an oral preparation to start to experience relief. The medication is applied directly where you need it and it can start working right away.
Choose Sports Medicine Compounding
Another reason the best choice for athletes is sports medicine compounding is that we can combine more than one pain relieving ingredient as part of your topical medication. Our compounding pharmacists can prepare prescriptions ordered by your doctor in the strength you need, and you can apply it in an easy and convenient manner. We also offer compounded antifungal sports meds and transdermal gels.
